Tuition

The tuition fees per semester at WUSOM are currently as follows: $3,990 for the pre medical program; $4,990 for the basic sciences program MD 1-4, and $6,490 for MD 5; and $6,490 for the clinical sciences program MD 6-10. Textbooks
At WUSOM, textbooks may be rented at the school library. You can pay a refundable deposit of $100 for the pre-med program and $300 for the basic sciences program. Compare that to the ever-rising cost of college textbooks in the U.S. (an 812 percent increase from 1978 to 2014). As of 2016, college students surveyed in the U.S. and Canada reported paying an average of $602 yearly for rented and purchased materials.
Other
Fees – Medical school fees do not stop after tuition and textbooks, of course. You will also be responsible for such costs as lab fees and exam fees. At WUSOM, your semester ending exam fees will range from $100 to $400 depending on the program. The clinical skills exam fees for a well-known U.S. medical school, Tulane University, ranged from $500 to $1,885 for the 2017-2018 semesters. One exam fee for the University of British Columbia Medical Program was $700. Lab fees are another expected cost for medical school students. The lab fee for the basic sciences program at WUSOM is $250. Lab fees for the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, for example, begin at $911. The lab costs at the University of British Columbia Medical Program run a total of $765.
