WUSOM provides an alternative pathway to earning an MD degree and pursuing residency training in Canada or the United States.
Yes. Many Canadian physicians have completed medical education at accredited Caribbean medical schools and subsequently matched into residency programs in Canada and the United States before returning to practice in Canada.
No. Canadian applicants are not required to submit MCAT scores for admission to Windsor University School of Medicine.
Yes. Canadian graduates who complete the required licensing examinations and residency training can become fully licensed physicians in Canada, subject to provincial licensing requirements.
Yes. Eligible Canadian graduates can apply through both the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS) and the U.S. National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), providing access to thousands of residency positions across North America.
WUSOM students complete clinical rotations at affiliated hospitals and healthcare facilities across the United States and Canada. The program is designed to minimize disruptions and avoid unnecessary relocation between rotations.
Students receive personalized residency guidance, including one-on-one mentorship from clinical deans, residency application support, and interview preparation throughout the match process.

WUSOM offers three annual intake periods, allowing students to begin their medical education in January, May, or September.
Yes. Eligible Canadian students may access financial assistance programs, including Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) and Student Aid Alberta, along with institutional scholarship opportunities.
Students complete their Basic Sciences education in St. Kitts and then transition to clinical rotations in affiliated hospitals throughout the United States and Canada.
The curriculum incorporates a Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) model and structured preparation designed to help students succeed on the USMLE examinations, including Step 1 and Step 2 CK.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for upcoming intakes. Students can apply immediately and potentially begin their MD studies in the next available semester rather than waiting an additional year to reapply elsewhere.
