Today, AMSA is a student-governed, national organization committed to representing the concerns of physicians-in-training. AMSA members are medical students, biomedical students, interns, residents and practicing physicians. Founded in 1950, AMSA continues its commitment to improving medical training and the nation\u2019s health.<\/span><\/p><h2><span style=\"color: #00254e; font-family: outfit;\">Our Mission<\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"color: #505050; font-family: outfit;\">The American Medical Student Association is committed to improving health care and health care delivery to all people; promoting active improvement in medical education; involving its members in the social, moral and ethical obligations of the profession of medicine; assisting in the improvement and understanding of world health problems; contributing to the welfare of medical students, biomedical students, interns, residents and post-MD\/DO trainees; and advancing the profession of medicine.<\/span><\/p><h2><span style=\"color: #00254e; font-family: outfit;\">Aspirations<\/span><\/h2><ul><li><span style=\"color: #505050;\">Quality, Affordable Health Care for All<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #505050;\">Global Health Equity<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #505050;\">Enriching Medicine Through Diversity<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #505050;\">Professional Integrity, Development and Student Well-Being<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #505050;\">AMSA Windsor Chapter is one of the most active and largest offshore chapters<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h2><span style=\"color: #00254e; font-family: outfit;\">Windsor Chapter<\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"color: #505050;\">The AMSA Windsor Chapter is one of the most active and largest off shore\/international chapters. Our students are dedicated to the mission and aspirations of the National Organization. Each semester AMSA hold various events, workshops, training programs and public health seminars to train and mould our budding physicians into compassionate doctors, good leaders, pillars of the community and graceful representatives of our noble profession. This also gives them an opportunity to interact and reach out to the local community promoting understanding of world health problems, improving health care delivery and social, moral, ethical and professional development. Some of the event highlights are shown in the pictures below:<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #505050;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #00254e;\">AMSA \u2018FOOTSTEPS\u2019 Program<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 A Peer to Peer mentoring program. Top students from each class volunteer to mentor their peers or junior batches and provide guidance on methods and techniques of studying, test taking skill development, sources to be used for studying and practice questions.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #505050;\"><span style=\"color: #00254e;\"><strong>Interbatch Volleyball Tournament<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 A relaxing and fun event where new incoming students get a chance to mingle with their seniors and exchange information about AMSA and the benefits of joining. They enjoy challenging the faculty and peers in competitive volleyball matches!<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #505050;\"><span style=\"color: #00254e;\"><strong>BLS Workshop<\/strong> <\/span>\u2013 Conducted in collaboration with the St Kitts Red Cross Society, Students receive a certification for a period of 2 years at the end of the Workshop<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #505050;\"><span style=\"color: #00254e;\"><strong>Suturing Workshop<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 Basic Suturing techniques are taught by our own Windsor Faculty<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #505050;\">Research Day \u2013 In collaboration with the Principles of Biomedical Research program in MD 3 AMSA organizes this event where students present their research as posters and oral presentations.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #505050;\"><span style=\"color: #00254e;\"><strong>Community Outreach Events<\/strong> <\/span>\u2013 AMSA collaborates with SFH (Students for Health) to organize various events to promote community health and awareness among the local population. E.g. Diabetes drive, free general health checkups, hand washing seminars in local schools, blood donation drive, and malaria\/dengue awareness drives etc.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #505050;\">We encourage you to join and be a part of these amazing experiences.
