Third Question: Now that
you know the information and you decide to apply and get an interview.
Assuming that you were accepted into the program after the successful
interview you will have so many concerns, some of them are as follows
1. Tuition Deposit
The tuition deposit is very minimal of US $500.00 to hold a spot in
the class subject to successful completion of the interview and
acceptance into the program.
2. Airline information
to fly to St. Kitts
There are several airlines that fly between major cities of USA and
Canada and St. Kitts. We recommend the students to take the following
route.
a) New York (airport code 'JFK') to St. Kitts
(airport code 'SKB') direct flight by American Airlines (www.aa.com)
flying time is approximately 3 hours.
b) Charlotte, North Carolina (airport code 'CLT')
to St. Kitts (airport code 'SKB') - Direct flight by US Airways (www.usairways.com)
flying time is approximately 3
hours.
c) Miami (airport code 'MIA') to St. Kitts
(airport code 'SKB') - direct flight by American Airlines (www.aa.com)
flying time approximately two and half hours.
d) One stop flights with a stop in San Juan, Puerto
Rico (airport code 'SJU') - Delta, Continental, Jet Blue, United, US
Airways, American Airline, Spirit Air and
many other airlines fly to San Juan
from different cities of United States. The connecting flight American
Airlines fly from San Juan to St. Kitts is approximately
40 minutes flight.
We do not recommend the students and parents to fly via St. Marteen as
the connecting flights our of St. Marteen are very small planes and do
not carry baggage.
3. Student Visa
United States Citizens, Canadian Citizens do not require a visa
to arrive in St. Kitts but would require a student visa for any length
of stay more than 30 days while studying Windsor University. All
students are required to have a round trip ticket when they are
traveling for the first time and entering into St. Kitts.
4. Housing
Housing and Dormitories are included in the one flat low tuition
fees. This has been a tradition of Windsor University for a number of
years. Student does not pay for the housing except a minimal surcharge.
5. Cafeteria
Windsor University provides free lunch at cafeteria for its students
only when the University is officially open. Free lunch is included in
the low one flat tuition fees.
6. Books
Windsor University School of Medicine provides free text books to
its students and student does not have to buy or bring their required
text books while studying in St. Kitts.
7. Local
Transportation
Windsor University School of Medicine provides free local
transportation and students can avail the bus facility of the school
between the dormitories and school.
8. Lab equipment
There is no lab fee for any student at Windsor University School of
Medicine.
9. Exams
Windsor University School of Medicine does not charge any prorated
tuition fees when a student fails a subject.
10. Local Cell phone, internet
St. Kitts has excellent communication facilities like United States
- cell phones, internet, cable TV and other facilities.
13. Bank account
The banking system is similar to US banking system.
14. Student Loans
Students studying at Windsor University School of Medicine can get
Financial Aid from private banks, parent company which includes tuition
and housing.
15. Clinical Rotations
Windsor has many affiliated hospitals in US, U.K. and many
other parts of the world. Student does not have to schedule their
rotations. The school would provide the clinical rotations.
16. USMLE Review
The strength of Windsor University School of Medicine is USMLE,
Canadian Exam Review. In addition to medical schooling every day
Windsor prepares the students for USMLE right from the beginning of
second semester where every other day in the evening special USMLE
classes are conducted on campus. This is done to keep the pass rate
high. Notes, charts, live lectures constitute this program
17. USMLE Exam Sponsorship
Windsor University School of Medicine sponsors the student for its
USMLE examinations.
18. Groceries
St. Kitts has excellent groceries stores like IGA and other stores.
Stores are similar to one in United States.
19. Health Care
St. Kitts provides health care at its 250 bedded JNF Hospital.
Ambulatory, Inpatient emergency services are provided.
20. Living Conditions
The living conditions in St. Kitts are in par with United States and
Canada.
21. Law and Order
St. Kitts has almost zero crime. The protective services (Police)
maintain the law and order in an efficient manner.
22. Hotel Information
Visitors, Parents who accompany the student have excellent hotel
